Britov Kim Nikolaevich (1925-2010)
Russian Soviet artist-painter, member of the Union of Artists of the USSR, Honored Artist of the RSFSR, People's Artist of Russia, winner of the Gold Medal of the Russian Academy of Arts, laureate of the I.I. Levitan Prize, an honorary citizen of the city of Vladimir. He was born in Sobinka, Vladimir province, spent his childhood in Kovrov, where his artistic abilities and passion for landscape were manifested. He graduated from the Mstera Art School. Kim Britov is one of the founders (along with V. Yukin and V. Kokurin) of an original trend in Russian landscape painting – the "Vladimir school of landscape and painting ", distinguished by its decorative features, brightness of color combinations, emotionality and love for the native land.
