Soloukhin Vladimir Alekseevich (1924-1997)
Russian Soviet writer, poet and publicist, a prominent representative of "village prose". He was born in the village of Alepino of Vladimir province (now – Sobinka district of the Vladimir region) in a peasant family. He received a secondary technical education in Vladimir, and then graduated from the Literary Institute in Moscow. Soloukhin was widely known for his novel "Vladimir settlements" ("Vladimirskie poselki"), which in 1958 was published in the journal "New world", and then in "Novel-journal". Annually in the native village of Soloukhin there is a literary and musical holiday "Singer of the Vladimir settlements".
